Con il Timeo e il Fedone, Platone definì gli elementi e l’ordine del cosmo. I suoi solidi sono figure ricche di significato e con sorprendenti corrispondenze che hanno da sempre evocato misticità e senso di perfezione.
Le linee pure, intrinseche alle figure di Aria, Acqua, Terra e Fuoco, racchiudono in sé l’essenza dell’essere e sono l’ispirazione matriciale della Platonic Series di big design, firmata Luca Bignardi.
Ispirandosi all’essenza della rappresentazione e dell’ordine, questa collezione esprime con semplicità ed efficacia la funzione e l’estetica della lampada. Il contenitore si dissolve lasciando spazio alle trasparenze che dichiarano la struttura dell’oggetto, con sincerità. Lampada non come contenitore ma come luce stessa, racchiusa in un gioco di corrispondenze rivelate, di incontri e sovrapposizioni pulite, senza artifici.
Pur trovando nelle figure perfette la chiave del progetto, la Platonic Series fa dell’imperfezione la sua forza, cogliendo quanto il non perfetto sia, a oggi, un valore.
I prodotti sono infatti realizzati a mano attraverso l’antica tecnica di lavorazione Tiffany, rivisitata e reinterpretata così come l’idea del perfetto: questo processo assicura il carattere unico di ciascun prodotto, irripetibile, garantito da una manualità che va riscoprendosi e assumendo nuovi valori, una manualità che esprime capacità creative capaci di riconoscere la nostra storia tecnica ma anche di sapersi rapportare alla realtà e ai nuovi strumenti tecnologici.

According to the Timaeus and the Phaedo, Plato defined the elements and the order of the cosmos. His solids are figures rich in meaning and with amazing correspondences that have always evoked mysticism and sense of perfection.
The pure lines, intrinsic to the figures of Air, Water, Earth and Fire, encapsulate the essence of being and are the matrix inspiration of the Big Design Studio’s Platonic Series , by Luca Bignardi.
Inspired by the essence of representation and order, this collection expresses, simply and effectively, the function and the aesthetics of the lamp. The container dissolves, leaving space to the transparencies that declare the structure of the object, with sincerity. The lamp is no more a mere container but light itself. It is enclosed in a game of correspondence revealed, of encounters and clean overlaps, without artifices.
Although perfect figures are the key of the project, imperfection is the Platonic Series’ strength, getting how perfect is not, today, a value. Actually, the products are handily made through the ancient Tiffany technique of working, revisited and reinterpreted as well as the idea of the perfection. This process ensures the unique character of each product, guaranteed by rediscovered manual skills that assume new values; a dexterity that expresses creative abilities in recognizing our technical history but also ability in relating to reality and new technological tools.
