Dario Guidi ha solo ventun anni e un talento di proporzioni enormi. Non abbastanza, però da colpire Fedez durante gli home visit della passata edizione di X-Factor. Eppure Dario non si arrende, la sua voce, la sua arpa, fanno impazzire milioni di ragazzi italiani, che lo sostengono e gli danno la forza per continuare ad inseguire il proprio sogno. E’ passato quasi un anno e Dario sta per uscire con il suo primo album, “Rintocco”.
L’abbiamo incontrato per voi.
Dario, diciamolo, hai fatto letteralmente innamorare il web della tua voce. Qual è il tuo segreto?
Credo di dare molta importanza all’aspetto interpretativo in ogni brano che decido di proporre. E’ una cosa che faccio anche nel momento della composizione musicale, cerco di trovare un accostamento di note che riproduca un suono che possa far emozionare.
Tutti ti conoscono per la tua delicatezza, dovuta forse anche allo strumento che ti accompagna, l’arpa celtica. Come mai hai scelto uno strumento così anticonvenzionale?
L’arpa celtica è uno degli strumenti più antichi e interessanti che esistano. La mia passione nasce da un amore spropositato per il genere celtico-new age, che ha come madrine artiste del calibro di Loreena Mckennitt, Enya e Cecile Corbel. Mi ha sempre affascinato, senza dubbio, anche il suo lato estetico: a primo impatto l’arpa ha una potenza pazzesca.
Com’è cambiata la tua vita dopo la partecipazione ai casting di X-Factor 8? Come sei riuscito a trasformare la delusione per non essere entrato nel programma, in forza?
Inizialmente è stata dura non lo nego. Io sono un ragazzo molto energico e propositivo, non mi arrendo mai, ma nonostante questo ammetto che i mesi dopo l’eliminazione da X-Factor sono stati molto faticosi. La prima settimana avevo problemi persino nell’ascoltare la musica. Credo siano stati l’affetto e l’attenzione delle persone a trasformare il tutto in forza. Vedere che molti ragazzi hanno tifato per me fino alla fine, che si sono commossi, arrabbiati ed emozionati con me. Questo è stato veramente meraviglioso.
E’ da poco uscito il tuo singolo “Il Ballo del Vero” che anticipa l’album “Rintocco”, parlaci del lavoro, quanto e cosa possiamo trovare di te al suo interno?
I miei testi sono in parte autoreferenziali. “Il Ballo del Vero” parla di quanto sia scorretto trascorrere la vita indossando una maschera che ci mostra per qualcosa che non siamo. Tutti dovrebbero avere il coraggio di affrontare il proprio riflesso nello specchio, accettare e fare accettare la propria identità. Il brano è acquistabile su quasi tutte le piattaforme digitali: da iTunes a Spotify, su Google Play e Amazon. L’album “Rintocco”, che prende il nome da uno dei brani al suo interno a cui sono particolarmente affezionato, è in lavorazione e uscirà molto probabilmente a settembre.
Quanto è difficile per un giovane emergere in un ambiente dove negli ultimi anni la competizione è aumentata notevolmente?
Credo che al giorno d’oggi per qualsiasi giovane sia difficile emergere in qualsiasi campo. La competizione c’è ovunque: dall’artista, al giovane laureato in lettere. E’ difficile imporsi, soprattutto calcolando il grande numero di raccomandati e “figli di” che riescono, spesso, a prendere il posto di chi è più meritevole di loro. Ma nonostante questo sono sempre stato dell’idea che il talento, se davvero presente, non possa rimanere rinchiuso in una gabbia ristretta. Prima o poi esplode pronto ad espandersi ovunque.
Noi di The WalkMan ci poniamo come obiettivo quello di esaltare i giovani talenti italiani. C’è un consiglio che puoi dare a chi come te vuole intraprendere la carriera artistica?
In realtà no. Ho sempre odiato i consigli, soprattutto in ambito artistico cerco di non darli mai. Ognuno dimostri l’arte e la viva a modo proprio. Chi sono io per dire cosa è meglio o non è meglio fare?

Dario Guidi, 21 and an immense talent; maybe not enough to strike Fedez during the home visit of the last edition of X-Factor. Yet, Dario doesn’t give up; his voice and his harp make million young Italians go crazy, while supporting him and giving him the strength to continue to chase his dream. It’s been almost a year, and Dario’s first album “Rintocco” will be issued soon.
We met him for you.
Dario, let’s face it; you did literally fall in love the web with your voice. What is your secret? I think I give a lot of importance to the interpretation of each song I propose. It is something I do even during the composition. I try to find a combination of notes that play a sound that can move people.
Everyone knows you for your delicacy, perhaps due to the instrument that accompanies you; the Celtic harp. Why did you choose a so unconventional instrument? The Celtic harp is one of the most ancient and interesting instruments. My passion stems from a disproportionate love for the genre Celtic-New Age, which has as patronesses artists like Loreena McKennitt, Enya and Cecile Corbel. It has always fascinated me. No doubt, it also has its aesthetic side: at first glance, the harp has a crazy power.
How has your life changed after participating in the casting of X-Factor 8? How did you manage to transform the disappointment for not having entered in the program, in your strength? At the beginning, it was hard I can’t deny it. I am very determined and proactive; I never give up. However, I must admit that the months after the elimination of X-Factor were very tiring. The first week I had problems even in listening to the music. I think the affection and attention of the people transformed it into strength. Seeing that many people have supported me until the end, that people were moved, excited and angry with me. This was really wonderful.
It has just been released your single “Il Ballo del Vero” anticipating the album “Rintocco”; tell us about this work, how much and what can we find of yourself in it? My lyrics are partly self-referencing. “Il Ballo del Vero” is about how wrong is living the life wearing a mask that make us appear different from what we really are. Everyone should have the courage to face their own reflection in the mirror; accept and make their identity accepted. The song can be purchased at almost all digital platforms: iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and Amazon. The album “Rintocco”, which takes its name from one of the songs I am particularly fond of, will probably be released in September.
How difficult is it for a young artist to emerge when in recent years the competition has dramatically increased? Nowadays, it is difficult for any young to emerge. Competition is everywhere. It is hard to stand up, especially by calculating the great number of persons with connections who often take the place of those deserve more than them. But despite this, I think that talent, the real talent, cannot remain locked in a small cage. Sooner or later it explodes ready to expand everywhere.
The WalkMan aims to enhance young Italian talents. Is there any advice you may want to give to people like you, who want to become a professional singer? Well, not really. I have always hated advices. Especially in the arts, I try not to ever give them. Each demonstrates the art living it in their own way. Who am I to say what is better or not better to do?
