Coppie di Architetti – Non sempre le coppie di innamorati riescono a coesistere nel lavoro, perché inevitabilmente si creano meccanismi rischiosi per la coppia. Ma quando la convivenza riesce, il sentimento che unisce due persone sfocia anche nella loro attività, spesso portando a risultati eccellenti.
È il caso di queste coppie di architetti, che sono riuscite a trovare la propria forza progettuale proprio nel continuo confronto con il partner. D’altronde se l’Amore governa il mondo, perché non metterlo al servizio dell’Architettura?

Massimiliano Fuksas e Doriana Mandrelli
Tra le coppie di architetti più famose c’è senza dubbio quella dei coniugi Fuksas. Un sodalizio che dura da più di quarant’anni e che ha prodotto opere di altissimo valore come l’aeroporto di Shenzhen o la Fiera di Milano. Personaggio eccentrico ed esuberante il primo, raffinata e riservata la seconda.
Due creativi complementari, capaci di progettare insieme dal masterplan agli interni.
Jacqueline e Carlos Touzet
Nominati “Architetti dell’anno” nel 2015 dall’AIA di Miami, il lavoro dello studio Touzet si basa molto sulle necessità delle persone, i cambiamenti climatici, la cultura e la storia di un luogo. Alla continua ricerca di soluzioni innovative e capaci di soddisfare i bisogni del nostro tempo, Jacqueline e Carlos Touzet formano una tra le coppie di architetti più affiatate del panorama contemporaneo.
Cristiana Favretto e Antonio Girardi (studiomobile)
Tra queste coppie di architetti senza dubbio quella che spazia di più tra diverse discipline è quella che dà vita a studiomobile. Cristiana e Antonio si muovono con disinvoltura tra architettura, tecnologia e biologia ed è forse per questa loro incredibile attitudine e attenzione ai temi delicati del pianeta che sono stati inseriti dal TIME tra i 100 progetti green più innovativi per il Seawater Vertical Farm.
Enric Miralles e Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT)
Enric e Benedetta sono stati due compagni di lavoro e di vita. Usiamo il passato perché purtroppo Miralles è scomparso nel 2000 a causa di un male incurabile. Da quel momento a condurre l’attività dello studio EMBT è Benedetta Tagliabue, architetta italiana trapiantata a Barcellona, che ha portato a compimento i progetti iniziati con il marito ancora in cantiere, accettando e vincendo nuovi concorsi e sfide che ne hanno stabilito l’enorme talento.
Sandy Attre e Matteo Scagnol (MoDus Architects)
MoDus Architects è un piccolo studio a Bressanone dove non esiste la gerarchia piramidale. Ogni collaboratore cura il suo progetto dall’inizio alla fine.
Anche in questo caso, come nelle altre coppie di architetti, la complementarità è la caratteristica necessaria affinché la coppia funzioni. Scagnol e Attre si sono formati in due culture diverse (Italia ed Egitto) e questo è evidente nei progetti che portano avanti. Lo studio è molto eterogeneo e dinamico e manifesta una predisposizione a un’Architettura misurata, che sa adattarsi alle esigenze.

Archi-Couples – people in love do not always manage to co-exist while working because inevitably arise risky mechanisms for the couple. However, when the cohabitation works, the feeling that unites two people also results in their activities, often leading to excellent results.
This is the case of these pairs of architects who have managed to find their strong point in the continuous dialogue with the partner. Moreover, if Love rules the world, why not putting it to the service of Architecture?
Massimiliano Fuksas and Doriana Mandrelli
Among the couples of the most famous architects, undoubtedly there are the Fuksas’s. Their partnership lasts for more than forty years and has produced works of great value as the Shenzhen airport or the Fiera di Milano. Eccentric and exuberant the first, refined and reserved the latter. They are two complementary creative talents, able to design everything, from the masterplan to the interiors.
Jacqueline and Carlos Touzet
Appointed as “Architects of the Year” in 2015 by the AIA Miami, the Touzet studio works on people’s needs, climate changes, culture and history of a place. Always looking for innovative solutions and able to meet the needs of our time, Jacqueline and Carlos Touzet form one of the most close-knit pairs of architects on the contemporary scene.
Cristiana Favretto and Antonio Girardi (studiomobile)
Among these pairs of architects, surely the one that goes further among different disciplines is the one that gave life to studiomobile. Cristiana and Antonio move freely between architecture, technology and biology and perhaps because of this incredible attitude and attention to sensitive issues of the planet they have entered by TIME among the 100 most innovative green projects for the Seawater Vertical Farm.
Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT)
Enric and Benedetta were two mates in work and life. We use the past tense because unfortunately Miralles died in 2000 because of an incurable disease. From that time Benedetta Tagliabue leads the activities of the EMBT studio. The Italian architect transplanted in Barcelona, has completed the projects begun with her husband still in the pipeline, accepting and winning competitions and new challenges that have established her enormous talent.

MoDus Architects is a small studio in Bressanone where there is no pyramidal hierarchy. Each employee takes care of his project from the beginning to the end. Even in this case, as in the other pairs of architects, complementarity is the necessary characteristic in order to make the couple works. Scagnol and Attre formed in two different cultures (Italy and Egypt) and this is evident in their projects. The study is very heterogeneous, dynamic and shows a predisposition to a measured Architecture, which can adapt to different needs.
