Le donne e l’India. I fatti di cronaca degli ultimi anni hanno dato a questo binomio un’impronta drammatica caratterizzata da violenze, prevaricazioni e generalmente da una totale mancanza di rispetto verso la figura femminile. Ma c’è una venture che è riuscita nel miracolo di valorizzare questo binomio grazie all’innovazione tecnologica. Parliamo di UST GLOBAL, società leader nella fornitura di servizi tecnologici con sede in California, che da anni sta portando avanti con successo la propria mission: favorire l’occupazione in campo tecnologico di giovani laureati, di donne e di appartenenti a minoranze etniche, linguistiche o religiose. La sede principale è in California ma il cuore pulsante del progetto è indiano, come il CEO Sajan Pillai che in un’intervista al quotidiano indiano Deccan Herald ha raccontato i numeri e le prospettive di crescita della sua venture. “Abbiamo formato con successo 20.000 laureati e laureate di tutto il mondo di cui 15.000 solamente in India – ha sostenuto, fiero, Pillai – “ con l’obiettivo di creare 5.000 posti di lavoro solamente per le donne appartenenti alle minoranze”. Il reclutamento di UST GLOBAL avviene in ogni angolo del globo, dalla Spagna alle Filippine, dalla Malesia al Messico. Proprio in Messico è in corso una delle partnership più importanti di UST, il cui successo in India ha attirato le attenzioni del governo federale che ha avviato una collaborazione consistente nella formazione di 30.000 ragazze e ragazzi neolaureati: solo da ottobre ne sono stati formati circa 900.
Dunque un modello imprenditoriale che apre nuove frontiere tecnologiche e che pone argini alla diffusa crisi occupazionale grazie a uno strumento semplice ma geniale: sfruttare le potenzialità inespresse in ambito tecnologico di milioni di studenti di tutto il mondo. Non è filantropia, è pur sempre impresa e come tale prescinde dal fattore economico. Ma in Paesi emergenti che vivono la contraddizione di avere economie rampanti in tessuti sociali poveri, è fondamentale che gli interessi di venture ambiziose e innovative coincidano con percorsi di crescita sociale.
